Machine capacity should be based on usable output rather than maximum operating speed alone. Start with daily carton demand, working hours, order quantities, board types, box sizes, and the number of job changes per shift. A high-speed machine with long setup times may deliver less practical output than flexible equipment designed for short runs.

Calculate Practical Production Capacity

Divide the required daily output by the available production hours after deducting time for setup, material loading, cleaning, and routine maintenance. Use peak-season demand instead of annual averages, then reserve capacity for future order growth.

For multi-specification production, provide the manufacturer with representative box drawings, batch quantities, board sizes, and changeover frequency. The FEFCO Code offers an internationally recognized system for identifying common corrugated box structures and helps both sides confirm processing requirements clearly.
